The scheme “Inter-Caste / Inter-Religious Marriage Award” has been implemented by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand, aims to promote social harmony and discourage caste and religious discrimination. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to married couples where, in the case of an inter-caste marriage, one spouse belongs to a Scheduled Caste, and in the case of an inter-religious marriage, both spouses belong to different religions.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
- The applicant must a married couple who has entered into either an inter-caste or an inter-religious marriage.
- In the case of an inter-caste marriage, one spouse must belong to a Scheduled Caste.
- In the case of an inter-religious marriage, both spouses must belong to different religions.

Application Process
Offline
- The received application is forwarded to the government for approval through the Directorate, along with the recommendation of the District Magistrate, after necessary scrutiny by the District Social Welfare Officer.
- It is mandatory to attach the following documents with the application form: a copy of the bride and groom's date of birth certificate (High School Certificate/Birth Certificate/Family Register/Aadhaar Card), marriage registration certificate, and details of a CBS bank account linked/seeded with Aadhaar.
- After approval at the government level, the bank draft is issued from the designation of the concerned District Magistrate.
