Details
The Integrated Pest/Nutrient Management Promotion (IPM/INM) scheme aims to promote integrated nutrient management (INM) and integrated pest management (IPM) by providing a subsidy of up to 30% of the cost, with a maximum of ₹1200 per hectare for up to 4 hectares per beneficiary. The subsidy process is applicable for farmers engaged in integrated pest management and integrated nutrient management, but no farmer will receive more than ₹1200 per hectare. The implementation of the program will follow the IPM recommendations for horticultural crops as per Appendices 12 and 13. Additionally, region-specific IPM modules can be implemented based on recommendations from scientists at agricultural universities or research centers. Subsidies will be available for biopesticides such as Bacillus thuringiensis, NPV, Trichocards, Trichoderma, neem-based insecticides, pheromone traps, and light traps. Chemical pesticides should only be used as a last resort if biopesticide management fails. The district collector will ensure timely supply and availability of inputs at government/cooperative institutions so that farmers can purchase inputs and submit subsidy claims to the department. The subsidy amount will be paid to farmers through RTGS. Farmers can apply for the subsidy by depositing their contribution with the supplying agency and receiving inputs directly. Agricultural supervisors/assistant agricultural officers will issue permits for providing inputs. After achieving the set physical targets, financial savings will be utilized to increase physical targets to ensure 100% fulfillment of financial goals.
