Details

The Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme was launched by the central government on November 19, 2007, as a replacement for the National Old Age Pension. Under this scheme, pensions are provided to individuals aged 60 years and above from BPL families listed according to the standards set by the Government of India. As of October 2, 2021, a process for automatic approval of online applications using metadata available on the Jan Aadhar portal has been initiated, eliminating the need for human intervention.

  • - Monthly pension of ₹750for pensioners under 75 years
  • Monthly pension of ₹1000for pensioners aged 75 years and above
  • Additional ₹200per month for pensioners under 80 years
  • Additional ₹500per month for pensioners aged 80 years and above, with the remaining amount covered by the state government
  • Monthly pension of ₹750 for pensioners under 75 years
