The scheme "Incentive Scheme for Marrying a Disabled Young Man/Woman" has been implemented by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand. Eligibility
- The applicant couple should be residents of Uttarakhand or have been domiciled in the state for at least five years.
- The couple must be citizens of India.
- The couple should not be income tax payers.
- Neither partner should have a living spouse at the time of marriage.
- No member of the couple should have been convicted in any criminal case.
- The benefit is provided when a person with 40% or more disability marries a non-disabled person, or when both partners have disabilities.
- At the time of marriage, the groom should be between 21 and 45 years of age.
- At the time of marriage, the bride should be between 18 and 45 years of age.
- The marriage should be conducted in accordance with prevailing social customs and traditions or be legally registered.

Application Process
Offline
- At present, applications for this scheme are submitted offline. The application form can be obtained from the office of the Assistant Social Welfare Officer or downloaded from the departmental website (https://socialwelfare.uk.gov.in). The duly filled application form, in the prescribed format, must be submitted to the office of the Assistant Social Welfare Officer." - The following documents must be attached with the application form: Aadhaar card of the couple, Disability Certificate, Copy of U.D.I. card, Permanent residence certificate / certificate confirming residence in the state for at least 5 years, Copy of bank account statement, Copy of marriage registration certificate, Affidavit (stating that the applicant is not an income tax payer, not involved in any criminal activities, and does not have any living spouse from before)
- The applications will be verified by the Assistant Social Welfare Officer and forwarded to the District Social Welfare Officer with recommendations based on eligibility. At the district level, the District Committee will review the application, and upon approval, the incentive amount will be provided to the applicant as per rules.
