Details

The "Incentive for Inter Caste Marriage Couple" scheme was launched by the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka. The scheme provides incentives to the couple in which one spouse is from a Scheduled Tribe (ST) and the other spouse is non-ST. An incentive of ₹5,50,000/- is provided to the married couple, i.e. ₹3,00,000/- for the bride and ₹2,50,000/- for the groom. Only couples with a combined annual income under ₹5,00,000/- and who apply within 18 months of their marriage are eligible.

Eligibility

  1. The couple should be residing in Karnataka.
  2. The couple should belong to the Hindu religion.
  3. One spouse should belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community. Other spouse should belong to a community other than Scheduled Tribe (ST).
  4. The combined annual income of the couple should be less than ₹5,00,000/-.
  5. The couple should apply to the scheme within 18 months of marriage.
  6. The non-ST partner should be a Hindu.
  7. The non-ST partner should belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
  8. The marriage should have taken place on or after 7th February 2019.

Application Process

Online

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
Step 2: In the right pane, click "Incentives for Marriage" and select the "Incentives to Inter-Caste Marriage" scheme. You will be directed to the department's dedicated page for that scheme.
Step 3: On the scheme's homepage, scroll down to the bottom and click on "Registration".
Step 4: In the online registration form, fill in all the mandatory fields of the form and upload all the mandatory documents in the specified format and size.
Step 5: Carefully review all the information provided by you. After completing the form, click "Submit". You will receive a confirmation message via SMS from the Department, and an acknowledgement form will be generated.
Step 6: Print the acknowledgement form for future reference.

Post Application Processes
The Tribal Welfare Department will conduct a spot verification to verify the details provided by the couple and process the application further. After successful spot verification, the incentive will be credited to the couple’s joint account.
