Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres (HWC) is an initiative aimed at transforming healthcare delivery from a selective approach to a comprehensive one. The scheme includes the establishment of 150,000 Health and Wellness Centres across the country to provide universal and free Comprehensive Primary Health Care. These centres focus on wellness and offer a wide range of services, including preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative care. Services extend beyond maternal and child health to include care for non-communicable diseases, mental health, emergency care, and essential drugs and diagnostic services.
