The scheme "Grant for the Marriage of Daughters of Destitute Widow" has been implemented by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand. Eligibility
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
- The applicant must be a destitute widow.
- The widow must be receiving widow pension.
- The family’s total monthly income from all sources must not exceed ₹4,000/-, or the family must belong to the BPL category.
- At the time of marriage, the bride’s age must be between 18 and 45 years.
- At the time of marriage, the groom’s age must be between 21 and 45 years.
- The grant is applicable for the marriage of up to two daughters.
Note: The Social Welfare Department verifies whether the widow is receiving widow pension or not.

Application Process
Online
- The applicant can apply online either by themselves or through a Common Service Center (CSC) via the Department’s Pension Portal (https://ssp.uk.gov.in), the UMANG Mobile App, or the Apuni Sarkar Portal (https://eservices.uk.gov.in). - The following documents are mandatory at the time of applying: Applicant's mobile number, Aadhaar card, Passport-size Photo, Caste Certificate, Domicile/permanent residence certificate of Uttarakhand, CBS Bank Account Details (linked/seeded with Aadhaar), Valid Income Certificate or BPL Certificate, Ration Card, Copy of Family Register (only for rural areas), Bride and groom's date of birth certificate (High School certificate/Birth certificate/Family register/Aadhaar card), Marriage registration certificate, Affidavit (Applicant's family has taken benefit only once before or has not taken benefit at all) - It is mandatory to apply between 1st March to 28th February of the same year in which marriage takes place. If someone's marriage takes place in January or February and the documents are not complete at that time, then in such a situation, one can apply before marriage but the benefit will be available only after uploading the marriage registration certificate on the portal.
- After applying online, the Assistant Social Welfare Officer will check it and on the basis of the investigation report/recommendation, the District Social Welfare Officer will approve the application form as per rules and the grant amount will be paid to the beneficiary's account.
> Whether the widow is receiving a pension from Social Welfare or not, the Social Welfare Department will confirm it, and a caste certificate is not required for availing benefits under this scheme.
