The GOI’s Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students is a financial assistance scheme aimed at supporting Scheduled Tribe (ST) students pursuing post-secondary education in various courses across India. The scholarship provides maintenance allowances based on the level of education and type of institution attended, ensuring that students from tribal communities can access higher education without financial burden.

Benefits

  • - Group 1: Rs. 12,000 per annum for Hostellers and Rs. 5,500 per annum for Day Scholars (Degree and Post Graduate courses including M.Phil., Ph.D., and Post Doctoral research in Medicine, Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Commercial Pilot License, C.A., L.L.M., etc.)
  • Group 2: Rs. 8,200 per annum for Hostellers and Rs. 5,300 per annum for Day Scholars (Graduate/Post Graduate courses like B.Pharma, Nursing, LLB, etc.)
  • Group 3: Rs. 5,700 per annum for Hostellers and Rs. 3,000 per annum for Day Scholars (All other graduate degree courses not covered under Group I & II)
  • Group 4: Rs. 3,800 per annum for Hostellers and Rs. 2,300 per annum for Day Scholars (Post-matriculation non-degree courses)
  • Full tuition fee and other compulsory fees as prescribed by the FRC are also covered

Eligibility

The scheme is open to all ST students who are pursuing higher education in India. There are no specific gender-related restrictions, and applicants must have a family income limit of Rs. 250,000 per annum.

  3. Submit the application to the Principal of the corresponding institution.
  4. Required documents include Aadhar Card, Affidavit, Bank Pass Book/Cancelled Cheque, Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, proof of native place, last year mark sheets, passport size photos, and PH Certificate from Civil Surgeon.
