Details
The Gaushala Biogas Sahbhagita Yojna aims to enhance the income of registered gaushalas (cow shelters) in the state by utilizing cow dung as a non-conventional energy source. The scheme focuses on establishing biogas plants with a capacity of 100 cubic meters or more in 25 selected gaushalas, promoting self-reliance in electricity generation and providing organic fertilizer to farmers. The scheme was initiated in the year 2018-19.
Benefits
- - Financial assistance of 50% of the total cost or up to ₹40lakh for the establishment of biogas plants in gaushalas
- The remaining 50% must be borne by the beneficiary gaushala or through a Build Own Operate Transfer (BOOT) method

Eligibility
Eligible gaushalas must:
- Be registered and selected under the scheme.
- Own more than 25 bighas of land.
- Maintain at least 1000 cattle.
