Gaurav Puraskar Award

The scheme "Gaurav Puraskar Award" by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat aims to recognize and encourage individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the fields of music, dance, drama, and folk art through a combination of financial and honorary benefits. The scheme confers a cash award of ₹1,000/-, a trophy, and a letter of appreciation to 12 deserving artistes every year. It also facilitates opportunities for awardees to contribute to state-sponsored cultural events and festivals in various expert capacities. The scheme is implemented by the Gujarat State Sangeet Natak Academy.

Cash Prize:

• Each awardee receives a cash prize of ₹1,000/-.

Honorary Recognition:

• Awardees are presented with a trophy and a letter of appreciation.

Post-Award Engagement:

• Awardees may be included as members in committees of the Academy.
• Awardees can offer their services as adjudicators or experts in state cultural programs such as Rajya-level Navratri festivals, Kalamahakumbh, and other events.

1. The applicant must be a resident of Gujarat.
2. The applicant must have made a significant contribution or demonstrated excellence in the fields of music, dance, drama, or folk art.

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should download the prescribed format of the application form for the "Publication Support Scheme for Fine Arts" scheme.
Step 2: In the application form, provide all the mandatory details, including career details in the field of art, photographs, or color slides of work (self-attested, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the supporting documents to the Gujarat State Sangeet Natak Academy.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority at the Academy office to whom the application has been submitted.
Note: Applications for book publication are invited every year through advertisements in daily newspapers.
