Financial Assistance to Fishermen Affected by Natural Calamities / Accident
Families of fishermen who die due to natural calamities or accidents receive a one-time financial assistance of ₹50,000. Additionally, fishermen held captive by Pakistani authorities are provided ₹100 per day until their release, with eligibility limited to residents of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu who are dependents of the affected fishermen.

The “Financial Assistance to Fishermen Affected by Natural Calamities/Accidents” scheme has been implemented by the Department of Fisheries, UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. The scheme aims to provide financial support to fishermen and their families in cases of death due to natural calamities or accidents, or in situations where fishermen are held captive by Pakistani authorities. The assistance is provided either as a one-time financial support or as a daily allowance, depending on the circumstances faced by the fisherman.
Benefits
- - One-time financial assistance of ₹50,000/- is provided in case of the death of a fisherman due to natural calamities or accidents
- Financial assistance of ₹100/- per day is provided to fishermen held captive by the Pakistani Authority. The assistance is payable till the release of the fisherman (fishermen detained more than once are not eligible)

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a resident of the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
- The applicant must be a family member or dependent of the deceased or detained fisherman.
- The fisherman detained more than once is not eligible for assistance under the scheme.

The applicant should contact the respective District Panchayat/Fisheries Department, UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu to avail the benefits under the scheme.
