Details

This scheme provides financial assistance to elderly individuals aged 60 years or more, who do not have a 21-year-old son, and whose annual income is less than Rs. 1,20,000 for rural areas and Rs. 1,50,000 for urban areas. Additionally, it supports persons with more than 75% disability, those aged 45 or more, and elderly individuals aged 60 or more residing in rural areas listed in the Below Poverty Line (BPL) list with a score of 0 to 20, or those in urban areas included in the BPL list prepared by the Ministry of Urban Housing and Poverty Alleviation. Beneficiaries aged 60 to 79 years receive a monthly assistance of Rs. 1,000, while those aged 80 years or more receive Rs. 1,250. The assistance is provided directly to their bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Eligibility

Elderly individuals aged 60 years or more without a 21-year-old son, with an annual income below Rs. 1,20,000 (rural) or Rs. 1,50,000 (urban). Persons with more than 75% disability, those aged 45 or more, and elderly individuals in the BPL list are also eligible.
