The scheme "Financial Assistance for Renovation and Special Repair Works to Hindu Religious Institutions situated in Economically Weaker Section Areas / Adi-Dravidar Colonies" was launched by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Wakf Department, Union Territory of Puducherry. The scheme aims to extend one-time financial assistance to Hindu religious institutions that are not under the direct purview of the Department of Hindu Religious Institutions but are situated in Adi-Dravidar Colonies or Economically Weaker Section Areas for renovation and special repair works. The applications for this scheme are accepted offline in a prescribed application form.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be the concerned temple authority.
- The applicant must represent a temple that is not coming under the purview of the Department of Hindu Religious Institutions.
- The applicant must represent a temple situated in Adi-Dravidar colonies or Economically Weaker Section Areas.

Application Process
Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form. Alternatively, the interested applicant may request the hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the concerned authority at the temple.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents.
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form, along with the documents, to the concerned authority at the temple.
Post-Application Processes
Step 1: An official from the Department of Hindu Religious Institutions & Wakf will conduct an inspection of the temple following submission of the application.
Step 2: After the inspection, the estimates submitted by the applicant shall be forwarded to the competent authority for necessary technical approval.
Step 3: The application shall be processed within a mandatory period of one month from the date of submission and inspection.
Step 4: Sanction of the first installment of financial assistance shall be considered within a period of three months, depending solely upon the financial position of the Government at that time.
Step 5: To receive the further/second installment of assistance, the temple authorities must produce the Original Vouchers (for material purchase totaling not less than ₹2,50,000/-) and the Utilization Certificate. They may also need to furnish a necessary certificate from a Chartered Accountant.
Post-Selection Conditions for Benefit Disbursement
*The grant of financial assistance sanctioned must be utilized strictly for the purpose for which it is sanctioned.
*Any portion of the amount which remains unspent or unutilized must be duly surrendered to the Commissioner, Hindu Religious Institutions, Puducherry.
*The Government shall have the power to call for the accounts of the temple to verify the amount sanctioned.
*The accounts relating to the financial assistance sanctioned will be subject to audit by the Directorate of Accounts & Treasuries, Puducherry, or any other competent authority.
