The scheme "Financial Assistance for Encouraging Production of Traditional Khell-Tiatr" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to encourage dramatic troupes and individuals to produce Khell-Tiatrs of better quality and preserve this folk musical drama. The scheme provides financial assistance to compensate for expenditures related to staging four shows, including the provision of an auditorium or hall, or financial aid for temporary village setups, along with video filming and a free Digital Versatile Disc copy for the applicant. The applicant must adhere to traditional Khell-Tiatr format, performance guidelines, advertising requirements, and submit detailed proposals with all required documentation in advance. The scheme is implemented by the Tiatr Academy of Goa. The applications for this scheme are accepted by submission to the Tiatr Academy of Goa at least 30 days prior to the proposed performance date.

  • The dramatic troupe will have the freedom to use the Digital Versatile Disc in any manner, but cannot make use of the logo of Tiatr Academy of Goa on the said Digital Versatile Disc. Conditions Ongoing Compliance regarding Content
  • There must not be any adverse remark made in any form, either written or verbal, against any Government, Individual, Institution, etc., or anything against one’s caste, creed, and religion which may lead to hurting of religious sentiments of anybody
  • If proved so, Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) reserves the right to disqualify the performance and refrain from making any payment or recall the payment if already made to the concerned. Show Access Obligation All shows must be presented to the public free of charge. Advertising and Branding Obligation In all advertisements, whether oral, print, or electronic media, banners, etc., the statement ‘This programme is held in collaboration with Tiatr Academy of Goa’ must be inserted, published, or announced.   • The organizing dramatic troupe or individual will need to discuss with Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) and decide about the Chief Guest or Guest of Honour well in advance
  • The President or Vice President of Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) will serve as the Chief Guest or Guest of Honour at the function

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a dramatic troupe or an individual producing Khell-Tiatrs.
  • The Khell-Tiatr produced by the applicant should be a new or old script.
  • The Khell-Tiatr produced by the applicant must conform to the traditional format of the Khell-Tiatr.
  • The Khell-Tiatr produced by the applicant must be one in which just one-story flows from beginning to end with an interval of 10 to 15 minutes.
  • The Khell-Tiatr produced by the applicant must have 12 to 14 cantos which are related to the theme of the play.
  • Out of these cantos, at least 7 must be of an interactive nature.
  • The band for the Khell-Tiatr produced by the applicant should include at least two blowing instruments, one keyboard, one bass guitar, and a drum set.
  • The applicant must not have any adverse remark made in any form, either written or verbal, against any Government/Individual/Institution, etc.
  • The applicant must not have anything against one’s caste, creed, and religion which may lead to hurting of religious sentiments of anybody.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form. The form may also be obtained directly from the office of the Tiatr Academy of Goa, requiring a physical visit to the office for collection.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required). Sign the application form and mention the date.
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the copies of the mandatory documents to -
