The scheme aims to demonstrate and popularize new crops, varieties, and technologies in agriculture and allied sectors. It focuses on diversifying production systems, including Dryland Horticulture, Agro Forestry, and Household production systems. The scheme promotes the adoption of proven technologies such as Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), fodder development, organic farming, multiple cropping, improved intercropping, seed village concepts, fisheries development in village ponds, farm ponds, and tanks, sericulture, backyard poultry, livestock management, and other micro enterprises.
