The scheme “Ex-Gratia Payment for Loss of Hands, Legs, Eyes, or Vision” is implemented by the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority under the Department of Disaster Management, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial relief to individuals who suffer physical disabilities such as loss of limbs or vision as a result of disasters or while participating in relief and preparedness activities.

- a higher amount of ₹2 50 000/- per person is provided
Under this scheme, an ex-gratia grant of ₹74,000/- is provided to each affected person. In cases where the disability exceeds 60%, a higher amount of ₹2,50,000/- per person is provided.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
- The applicant must be either disaster-affected individual or involved in disaster relief or preparedness-related activities.
- The extent and cause of the disability must be certified by a doctor from a government hospital or dispensary.
Application Process
Offline
Information about the disaster and the resulting damage is received from various sources. The concerned Patwari verifies the damage and records it in the P-20 form. The Patwari’s report is subsequently verified by the Tehsildar and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Approval is then obtained from the District Magistrate. Once the District Magistrate’s approval is received, relief funds are disbursed to the concerned beneficiaries at the Tehsil level.
