The Escort Allowance scheme aims to facilitate the inclusion of children with special needs in mainstream education from classes 1 to 12 in Rajasthan. It focuses on enhancing their inherent capabilities, providing educational and therapeutic support, eliminating discrimination, fostering positive societal attitudes, and raising awareness about their rights and abilities. The scheme provides an escort allowance to parents of children with disabilities who are unable to travel to and from school independently, as defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. This allowance is available for a duration of six months at a rate of ₹400 per month.

Eligibility

Children with disabilities as defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, who have 40% or more disability and are unable to travel to school independently. Parents must provide a disability certificate issued by a competent medical authority.
