The Eklavya Model Residential School Construction scheme aims to provide free residential and educational facilities to tribal students in tribal sub-plan areas. The construction of a school with a capacity of 480 students (240 boys and 240 girls) is undertaken. The estimated unit cost for the construction of the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) is ₹25.00 crores. Additionally, the scheme includes the construction of Eklavya Model Day Boarding Schools (EMDBS) to provide free educational facilities to tribal students in the same area, with an estimated unit cost of ₹14.00 crores.
