The “Drone Policy 2023” is implemented by the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) under Department of Information Technology, Government of Uttarakhand. It aims to promote the use, innovation, and development of drone technology for improving service delivery and governance in Uttarakhand, while strengthening the drone ecosystem through collaboration among industry, academia, and government.

Benefits

  • The following measures have been initiated under the Drone Policy 2023 to boost the drone sector:
  • Giving a major boost to service delivery and governance through the use of drones in the difficult terrains of the state
  • Encouraging innovation and development in drone technology
  • Strengthening the Drone System Design and Manufacturing (DSDM) and Drone-Based Services (DES) ecosystem
  • Maximizing the benefits of drone technology for the state by promoting collaboration between industry, administration, and academia
  • Providing benefits under the policy to drone service providers, drone manufacturers, drone investors, drone-related startups, the youth of Uttarakhand, universities, ITIs, and polytechnic colleges
  • Developing a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework for the use of drones
  • Rewarding startups, companies, and individuals excelling in drone manufacturing and drone-related services
  • Establishing Drone Centers of Excellence
  • Introducing various incentive schemes

Eligibility

  1. Drone service providers, drone manufacturers, drone industries, drone investors, drone startups, the youth of Uttarakhand, universities, ITIs, polytechnic colleges, and government institutions are eligible to avail benefits under the Drone Policy.
