Details

The Drinking Water Scheme is implemented by the Public Health Engineering Department to provide drinking water facilities in villages with a population of over 750 (Scheduled Tribe areas) and over 1500 (non-Scheduled areas). Due to the scattered population of tribal communities, many villages in the tribal development area do not fall under the department's norms, making it difficult to implement the scheme in these villages. Therefore, the scheme provides pump and tank systems, piped water supply, and hand pumps in tribal-dominated villages that are otherwise deprived of such facilities.
