Details
The Design Development program plays a crucial role in the handloom textile business by focusing on design and color patterns. With ever-changing fashion trends, color combinations, and designs, today's fashion-conscious customers demand variety. Typically, customers prefer not to repurchase the same design pattern, and individuals prefer to use different designs in their clothing. Therefore, design development holds significant importance in the textile business. In other textile production sectors, such as mills and power looms, manufacturers spend millions on developing new designs, while the handloom sector remains unorganized and economically weaker. Weavers in this sector lack financial resources and adequate experience in fashionable market demands. Consequently, handloom weavers are deprived of this specific business need, which the proposed 'Design Development Program' aims to fulfill. In recent years, activities under this program have provided substantial assistance to weavers and artisans. During the financial year, the corporation will coordinate with weavers, block printers, artisans, and garment manufacturers in the state's dense handloom areas to develop Kota Doria zari, Kota Doria block print sarees, dupattas, cotton dress materials, khes, bed covers, shawls, and various types of traditional and western garments and designs.
