Details

The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) was announced by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) on September 25, 2014. It is part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) and aims to diversify the incomes of rural poor families while addressing the career aspirations of rural youth aged 15 to 35 years from poor families. DDU-GKY supports various government initiatives such as Make In India, Digital India, Smart Cities, and Start-Up India. The program is designed to train rural youth and place them in jobs, thereby contributing to India's demographic dividend. DDU-GKY operates in 28 states and union territories, impacting youth across 689 districts and has trained over 990,000 candidates, with over 530,000 placed in jobs as of April 1, 2020.
