Details

The Dang Area Development Programme aims to enhance the economic and social infrastructure of the Dang region. It focuses on creating community and other essential physical assets, prioritizing works related to village sanitation, clean drinking water, healthcare, rural internal roads, education, and lighting in villages. The programme also includes the maintenance of assets created under the Dang Regional Development Plan and other development schemes. It aims to establish small and cottage industries to provide employment and livelihood opportunities for local citizens, along with initiatives related to education, healthcare, environmental protection, art, culture, and tourism development. This scheme was reinitiated in the 2005-06 budget to develop economic, social, and other basic facilities in the Dang area, which is affected by dacoits in the eastern and southeastern districts of the state, and to provide additional employment opportunities. The nodal agency for the approval and implementation of the Dang Regional Development Plan will be the District Council (Rural Development Cell) at the district level, with work approvals issued from the state-level approved action plan. The scheme is being implemented in 2,206 villages across 394 gram panchayats in 26 panchayat samitis in eight districts of the state, including Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Kota, Bundi, Baran, Dholpur, Bharatpur, and Jhalawar.
