Details
This scheme aims to utilize water available in the backwaters of rivers, streams, and dams in tribal and other areas for irrigation purposes. Water is lifted using electric/solar motors to increase the irrigated area. A survey is conducted to prepare cost estimates, where 10% of the cost is borne by the beneficiaries in cash/labor, and 90% is provided as a grant by the Tribal Area Development (TAD). The implementation is primarily overseen by technically skilled officials under the Clean Project, with participation from the committee of the benefiting farmers. After completion, the scheme will be operated for three years by the implementing agency through the committee of benefiting farmers, after which it will be handed over to the beneficiaries' committee. The revival of previously constructed but defunct community irrigation schemes is also included under this scheme.
