Details
The CM Setu Scheme was launched by the Health and Family Welfare Department on June 4, 2013, following a resolution. A committee was established under the chairmanship of the Collector to appoint specialists under this scheme. According to a resolution dated April 26, 2017, specialists are compensated at a rate of Rs. 600 per hour, with services provided for three hours a day, 18 hours a week, and a maximum of 72 hours a month. The remuneration for specialists varies based on distance traveled: Rs. 700 for 0 to 25 km, Rs. 800 for 25 to 50 km, and Rs. 900 for distances above 51 km. In health facilities where the post of Specialist Class-I is sanctioned, vacancies can be filled by the committee of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) with approval. If the post of specialist is not sanctioned, provisions allow for the appointment of a maximum of 5 specialists in District Hospitals, 4 in Sub District Hospitals, and 2 in Community Health Centres. A government resolution dated June 30, 2018, updated the district-level committee, now chaired by the Chief District Medical Officer or Medical Superintendent, to oversee the appointment of specialists under the CM Setu Scheme.
