The scheme “Basic Kayaking Course” is implemented by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board under the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to train and certify youth of Uttarakhand as skilled kayaking instructors with essential life-saving skills.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a youth of Uttarakhand.
- The applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
- The applicant should be able to swim 100 meters within 3 minutes.
- The applicant must be educated.
- The applicant must be mentally and physically fit.
- The applicant must have prior training in life-saving techniques and water sports operations from a recognized institute.
The total number of 15 beneficiaries will be selected.

Offline
- The prescribed application form must be duly filled and submitted along with the required documents to the office of the District Tourism Development Officer.
- The applications are evaluated on practical parameters by the trainers from the National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS), Goa.
