Meritorious students from Meghalaya who excel in their Board Examinations are awarded laptops through this initiative. Eligible candidates must have topped their respective Annual School Board Examinations conducted by recognized boards, including MBOSE, CISCE, and CBSE, and meet specific criteria set forth by the program.

Details

The scheme "Awarding of Laptops to Meritorious Students of Meghalaya " has been implemented by the Directorate of Information Technology & Communications, Government of Meghalaya aims to award laptops to meritorious students who passed the Board Examination of MBOSE SSLC, MBOSE HSSLC, ICSE, ISC and CBSE X & XII. Through this scheme, laptops are provided to eligible meritorious students who have secured marks equal to or more than the last student in the published list.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant must have studied in the State of Meghalaya; or the applicant should be a resident of Meghalaya who studied outside the State.
  2. The applicant must have topped in the respective Annual School Board Examinations in a particular year.
  3. The applicant must have passed the examinations conducted only by:
  • Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE);
  • Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE);
  • Central Board for School Education (CBSE).
  1. The applicant must have appeared in Class X or Class XII Annual Board Examinations of the above-mentioned Boards/Council.
  2. The applicant of Class X of CBSE Board shall be selected as per Section 3 II (a).1. For Class XII, the applicant should have topped in any stream, namely Arts, Commerce or Science.

Subject-Specific Eligibility (MBOSE Only):

  1. For Class X (MBOSE), the applicant who is a subject topper in Mathematics, Science or Computer Application shall also be eligible for the award.
  2. For Class XII (MBOSE), the applicant who is a subject topper in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Application or Biology shall also be eligible for the award.
  3. The applicant whose name appears as an MBOSE top ranker as well as a subject topper (in one or more subjects) shall be eligible for only one award in a particular year.
  4. However, in recognition of such achievement, the applicant shall be awarded a Laptop of configuration higher than those of other awardees.

Step 1: The applicant must visit the official website of the Directorate of Information Technology & Communications: https://megedistrict.gov.in/ to fill the application form.
Step 2: Select the service “Registration for IT Awards for Meritorious Students.”
Step 3: Click on Apply Online and Select the serivice Specific details ( Category [Qualifying Examination], School Name, and Name of Student).
Step 4: Enter the basic details (Father's Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number) and Upload the passport-size photograph (20 KB to 300 KB).
Step 5: Enter address details and complete captcha verification.
Step 6: Click on "Submit" to submit the application.

Instructions:

  • The applicant should check the probable list of meritorious students eligible for the IT Award.
  • If the applicant has scored marks equal to or more than the last student in the published list but the name does not appear, the applicant should approach the Directorate of Information Technology & Communications, Meghalaya, Shillong.
  • The applicant should submit the original Mark Sheet, Identity Proof and other relevant documents for verification.
  • The applicant may submit claims or objections, if any, in writing on or before closing date.
  • The process concludes upon completion of registration and verification by the Directorate.
