The scheme “Assistance to Handloom Artisans” is implemented by the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority under the Department of Disaster Management, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial support to disaster-affected handloom artisans for the repair or repurchase of damaged tools, equipment, raw materials, and finished products.

- Under this scheme, the following assistance is provided to disaster-affected artisans:
- For the repurchase of damaged tools and equipment: ₹5,000/- per artisan for the repurchase of tools. - For damage to raw materials or products under production or finished: ₹5,000/- per artisan for raw materials

- The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.

Application Process
Offline
Information about the disaster and the resulting damage is received from various sources. The concerned Patwari verifies the damage and records it in the P-20 form. The Patwari’s report is subsequently verified by the Tehsildar and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Approval is then obtained from the District Magistrate. Once the District Magistrate’s approval is received, relief funds are disbursed to the concerned beneficiaries at the Tehsil level.
It is necessary to have the damage and its replacement duly verified by the competent authority appointed by the State Government.
