6.1/10Farmers from the General Category in Puducherry can benefit from a substantial 65% subsidy for the installation of Submersible or Centrifugal motor pump sets along with necessary accessories. This financial assistance is capped at a maximum of ₹50,000 per tubewell per individual, aimed at enhancing agricultural water management. The subsidy is disbursed efficiently through the Electronic Clearing System (ECS) if the farmer has financed the construction independently. To qualify, applicants must own at least 1.5 acres of land for a minimum of two years and must not have received similar subsidies within the last five years. Additionally, they must ensure that the land remains dedicated to agricultural use for a period of ten years post-construction, executing a bond to this effect. This initiative not only supports individual farmers but also contributes to the overall agricultural productivity in the region.
