Details

The scheme, initiated by the Rajasthan Police Department, provides financial assistance for the care of cattle rescued from slaughter or trafficking. Registered gaushalas (cow shelters), nandishalas, kanji houses, local bodies, panchayati raj institutions, and other approved organizations can receive support for the feed and care of these animals. The assistance is provided at a rate of ₹50 per day for large cattle and ₹25 per day for small cattle, for a maximum period of one year or the duration of custody, whichever is shorter. The scheme was launched in the financial year 2015-16.

Eligibility

Registered gaushalas, nandishalas, kanji houses, local bodies, panchayati raj institutions, and other approved organizations that are maintaining cattle rescued from slaughter or trafficking.

Exclusions

Organizations that have received assistance from other departments or schemes for the same purpose are not eligible.
