The scheme “Assistance for Protected Cultivation” by the Agriculture and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat aims to promote modern, climate-resilient horticulture practices by providing financial support for protected cultivation infrastructure like mulching, nursery development, and plug nurseries. The scheme encourages self-employment and sustainable income generation for farmers through the use of polyhouses, shed net houses, and starter kits to improve crop productivity and resource efficiency.

Benefits

  • Plastic Cover (Mulching):
  • General Area: ₹32,000/- per hectare. - Hilly Area: ₹36,800/- per hectare. - 50% of the expenditure incurred, limited to 1 hectare per beneficiary
  • Self-Employment Oriented Horticulture Nursery Development Programme:
  • Nursery Structure: ₹3,50,000/- per unit - ₹3,00,000/- per unit for 500 sq.m. area
  • Starter Kit: ₹50,000/- per unit - Assistance up to 65% of the cost or ₹2,27,500/-, whichever is less. Shed Net House & Polyhouse:
  • Coverage: 500 sq.m to 4,000 sq.m - Assistance as per square meter cost based on empanelled company prices
  • Structures supported: Cylindrical, bamboo, and wooden. Plug Nursery:
  • Public sector: ₹30,00,000/- per hectare for 1 hectare - Private sector: Assistance of 50% or ₹15,00,000/- per hectare (whichever is less) for 1 hectare

> Registration Process:

Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at the I-Khedut Portal.
Step 2: Click on 'Login' from the top right-hand side, then click on "Beneficiary Registration" and select any one from the 'Farmer' or 'Institutional' or 'Except For the Farmer' as the Beneficiary Type.
Step 3: Select the District, Taluka, and Village, choose 'what type of account holder you are?', enter your Account Number and Name, solve the Captcha, and click 'Save and Next'.
Step 4: Enter your Mobile Number and Email address, click 'Send OTP', enter the received OTP, create and confirm a Password, solve the Captcha, and click 'Submit'.

> Login Process:

Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at the I-Khedut Portal.
Step 2: Click on &#39;Login&#39; from the top right-hand side of the homepage. On the home page, click on ‘Schemes’ and then click on ‘Agricultural Schemes’.
Step 3: Now select the scheme, click on the ‘Apply’ button, and an application page will open.
Step 4: Click on the &quot;Apply New&quot; button and submit a new application.
Step 5: Click on the &quot;Update Application&quot; button to add corrections to the application.
Step 6: Once the application is done, confirm it.
Step 7: Take a printout of the confirmed application.
