The scheme “Appointment of Contract Sports Coaches” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to appoint sports coaches on a contract basis to ensure the smooth functioning of local training camps for various sports across the state.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a sportsperson or a coach from Uttarakhand.
- The applicant must be between 21 and 70 years of age.
- The applicant must possess the relevant educational and sports qualifications.
- The sports coach is not required to be a domicile or permanent resident of Uttarakhand.

Application Process
Offline
- The department organizes local training camps for various sports every year. To ensure the smooth functioning of these camps, sports coaches are appointed on a contractual basis.
- At the district level, applications for conducting local training camps are submitted by the District Sports Officers.
- Each year, a notification regarding the scheme is published in daily newspapers, usually in the month of March. The training camps are then organized for a maximum duration of 11 months, from 15th April to 15th March.
