Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, 100 Anganwadi Centers cum Shishu Palna Grah (Creches) are being operated in the state. The operational hours are as follows: from April 1 to September 30, the centers operate from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (8 hours), and from October 1 to March 31, they operate from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (8 hours). Working women can leave their children aged 6 months to 3 years at the center while they go to work. In addition to the supplementary nutrition provided at the Anganwadi Center, additional supplementary nutrition is also provided to the children staying at the center. The selection of Creche Workers is done according to the guidelines issued by the department. The required qualifications and procedures for selection are the same as those applicable to Anganwadi Workers. They receive a monthly honorarium of ₹3000. Currently, all co-Creches are operational. The work division involves Anganwadi Workers, Assistants, and Creche Workers collaborating, with the Workers and Assistants working the first four hours and the Creche Workers working the last five hours, resulting in an overlapping hour of collaboration. The primary responsibility for supervising children aged 3-6 years lies with the Anganwadi Workers, while the Assistants primarily supervise children aged 6 months to 3 years. For the operation of Anganwadi cum Shishu Palna Grah, there is a provision for rent payment of up to ₹500 per month in rural areas and ₹1000 per month in urban areas if a room is rented. The room must be well-lit and ventilated, and the area must be completely safe for children. The responsibility for this lies with the respective Child Development Project Officer. Proper training is provided to Anganwadi Workers and Creche Workers before starting the operation of the Creche.
