The “Advocate Graduate Stipend” scheme was launched by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat. It aims to provide financial assistance and practical training support to tribal law graduates who begin their legal practice. Under this scheme, tribal youth who have obtained their charter within two years of completing their LLB are given a monthly stipend.

Benefits

  • Stipend to junior tribal advocates:
  • ₹10,000per month for the first year
  • ₹8,000per month for the second year
  • ₹6,000per month for the third year. Allowance to senior advocate (mentor):
  • ₹5,000per month for three years

Eligibility

  1. The applicant should be a Scheduled Tribe (ST) youth.
  2. The applicant should have completed LLB degree.
  3. The applicant should have obtained a charter within two years of graduation.
  4. The applicant should begin legal practice as a junior lawyer under a senior advocate.
  5. The applicant should be practicing in tribal areas of Gujarat.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should visit (during office hours) the office of the Project Administrator of Gujarat Tribal Development Corporation, Gandhinagar, and all tribal districts, and request a hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the staff exclusively entrusted to issue and collect filled-in applications.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the Tribal District Sponsorship Administrator's Office.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission and a unique identification number (if applicable).
