The Swayam Saksham scheme has been initiated to promote self-reliance among backward class youth who receive vocational education and training. Under this scheme, the Gujarat Backward Class Development Corporation provides low-interest loans to eligible youths and women for self-employment. The scheme is aimed at highly educated individuals such as engineers, doctors, and lawyers, enabling them to start independent businesses like clinics, nursing homes, physiotherapy centers, biomedical labs, law offices, drug stores, architect offices, engineering units, and chartered accountant offices.

Eligibility
Eligible applicants include educated unemployed individuals from socially and economically backward classes (OBC) who have completed professional courses. The scheme is applicable to engineering and technology college graduates, medical and engineering students, and qualified unemployed individuals.
