The PM-RAHAT (Relief & Assistance for Highway Accident Trauma) Scheme provides cashless hospitalization for road accident victims up to ₹1.5 lakhs. The scheme aims to reduce road accident fatalities by ensuring timely medical treatment during the critical 'golden hour' after an accident. It is implemented under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and is supported by the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund, which facilitates the treatment of both insured and uninsured accident victims.
