Details
The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) scheme has been implemented in Gujarat since the year 2004-05. It aims to retain girls above 10 years of age who have dropped out, never enrolled, or are out of school from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Tribes, Minority Communities, and below poverty line (BPL) families in education, enabling them to complete their education up to class 12. Currently, there are 249 KGBVs operational in the state, benefiting approximately 28,000 girls.

Girls above 10 years of age from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Minority Communities, and BPL families.
