Details

The scheme aims to address the issue of stray and unprotected cattle wandering in rural areas and to provide them shelter, thereby improving their lives. Under this scheme, eligible NGOs will be supported to establish Goshala (cattle shelters) in Gram Panchayats with a provision of up to 1 crore INR, where the state will cover 90% of the cost and the NGO will contribute 10%. The scheme was initiated in 2023.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants must have 5 bigha (8000 square meters) of land, either owned, leased, or allotted.

  1. Registration certificate of the NGO
  2. Land-related documents (5 bigha/8000 square meters)
  3. Certificate confirming no existing Goshala in the Gram Panchayat area
  4. Experience certificate for operating a Goshala.
